Gold IRA Fees Calculator
Estimate first-year and ongoing Gold IRA fees. Start with example amounts or enter a written quote, then compare costs over time.
How to Compare Two Gold IRA Fee Quotes
Use the same starting account value and number of years for both estimates. Enter the first quote, select Save for comparison, then change the fees to match the second quote. Your saved estimate stays on the left and the current estimate appears on the right.
Check that each quote covers the same services. For example, when storage is included in administration, select Included or not charged for storage rather than adding it again. Enter the full annual fees and any years in which those fees are waived. This lets you compare the opening year with the fees that apply once the waiver ends.
Compare the dealer’s purchase and buyback quotes separately. Lower account fees alone do not establish a lower overall cost.
Example: What the Starting Fees Add Up To
The calculator starts with a $50 setup fee, $150 in annual administration and $125 in annual storage. With no other fees or waivers entered, that adds up to $325 in the first year, $275 in ongoing annual fees and $1,425 over five years.
For the example $50,000 account, the $275 annual charge equals 0.55% of starting account value. These are illustrative inputs, not a provider quote, market averages or an investment recommendation. The calculation does not predict returns.
What to Confirm Before Relying on an Estimate
Request the complete fee schedule for the account and storage arrangement you are considering. Confirm which charges are one-time, annual, percentage-based or charged per transaction, and check what value is used to calculate percentage fees.
Ask which fees are included in other charges, what any waiver covers and when it ends, and what is charged to transfer or close the account. Keep charges for processing a purchase separate from markups already included in the metal price. For fee explanations and supporting research, read the Gold IRA fees guide.
Can I Use This for an Existing Gold IRA?
Yes. Enter your current account value and the number of future years you want to compare. Set setup and other opening charges to $0 when they have already been paid and will not recur. Enter any remaining full years of fee waivers, and add a closing charge only when you intend to include it in the final year. The calculator counts full years, so check the result against your actual billing dates.
