Top GoldStar Trust Company Reviews

"We have invested with Gold Star using their IRA accounts and ESA Coverdell accounts for our kids college expenses. We held accounts for three children for many years and changed our address at least 4 times in those years. Other than a few forms being mailed to old addresses, Gold Star Trust did a good job of handling our money. I see many 1 star reviews for high brokerage fees, let me tell you, I have paid much higher fees with companies in the Boston area so I am not sure how valid those complaints are. When the stock market was up and down, our investments have remained steady.Investments can be risky, but Gold Star has done right by us. No complaints here."

"By far the best fees I have seen for non-traditional asset IRA custodians. I have real estate partnership assets with them and they charge a flat fee rather than on a percentage of assets. Customer service has been good. I do not understand the other reviews, but maybe hard assets (gold) may be more expensive. As it stands, if the asset qualifies for custodianship by Goldstar, it is not even remotely close versus other custodians in terms of fees."

"Great company. Took the time to go over all of the paperwork with me personally. Even saved me money by not opening an account with inadequate funds to support the storage and maintenance fees for one of the potential physical gold accounts."

"Shaun was professional and courteous. At times, I felt, patronizing. However, he guided me through the process and I am comfortable with my purchases."

Worst GoldStar Trust Company Complaints

"When I first took my IRA out it was understood that I pay $150 to open my account. $75 annual fee there after. This year the fees doubled to $150 a year. Better think long and hard before thinking about investing with this company."

"Do not put your money with Goldstar Trust. They take weeks to give it back when you ask for distribution. By tracking it, we can see the gold has been sold but we have yet to see a check (3 weeks after they got cash for the gold)."

"Sent a distribution of funds form to liquidate a self directed IRA on November 6, 2023. I was told it may take up to four weeks before my funds are transferred to my bank account. Well it’s been 8 weeks no funds transferred yet. Documents were submitted without errors. Called and was basically told nothing about when my funds would be delivered. Still waiting December 29, 2023. Probably will be the New Year before I see my money. Yeah your company really let’s me take control of my funds."

"Should be able to give zero stars.Annual fees now at 150. Transferred my money out to a different company and they charged an additional 150 cancellation fee.Criminal like behavior, take what you earn because they can."
